Tend VR is a radical new virtual-reality-based delivery of one of the most effective treatments for depression and anxiety: Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). In a world first, University College London (UCL) and The Retreat – Britain’s oldest mental health provider, are working with a group of award-winning clinicians and creative technologists have created a scalable, immersive VR-based delivery of MBCT, available at a much lower cost than standard delivery methodologies. We have already successfully completed proof-of-concept testing with 12 patients suffering from depression with exceptional results: significant reductions in patients’ PHQ-9 depression and GAD-7 anxiety scores.
Together with CIRCE, we will develop our product further, undertaking a series of fast iterations before beginning a major clinical study of 50 patients to assess the new version of our product.
