The Black European Academic Network (BEAN) was founded in 2010 to overcome the challenges of institutional racism in education and beyond. Europe’s social and political climate has demonstrated the need for increased cultural diversity, including the Black European experience. Based on the first groundbreaking book of its kind, “Mapping Black Europe: Monuments, Markers, Memories,” published in March 2023, the editors plan to develop and design an online course for distance learning based on their findings.
